A note for regular readers: I am flying to the YearlyKos Conference in Las Vegas this morning to help present a unique survey later today of the progressive or liberal Netroots that was the brainchild of MyDD blogger Chris Bowers. I helped design and field the survey which was conducted online earlier this week.
For now, Chris Bowers has posted more on the background and goals of the study. For a $10 fee, you can watch the presentation live on the AirAmerica web site (2:45 p.m. Pacific Time, 5:45 p.m. Eastern), and I am sure MyDD will have more details posted online within the next few days.
The larger issue here isn’t whether the election was stolen, but if the election, or a future election, *could* have been/be stolen. If Kennedy and Freeman are able to do something to tighten up the electoral process, more power to them, almost regardless of the means they use to do it. The last two presidential elections have been shaky on the one hand, and downright ugly and embarrassing on the other; this shouldn’t happen when a country has our traditions and putative values, and the wealth to make sure we live up to those traditions and values. Wonky pissing contests are fun to watch, even important and necessary in their way, but there’s more going on here. Or at least, there should be.
That’s what I get for posting without caffeine. My above post should have been in reply to the RFK Jr. entry on 6/9. :/
